This weekend was SF Beer Week and on one of our visits to the city, we learned that there
were several breweries making special strong beers. The three we knew about were Speakeasy Ales & Lagers
,
21st Amendment, and Magnolia Pub. Although I had been to 21st Amendment and Speakeasy's strong beer month events (which coincide with SF Beer Week),
the blog post on Speakeasy's site about a beer named Strong Man really convinced me that I needed to go.
Join us for the special return of 'Strong Man Strong Ale'. This EXTREMELY small batch beer was brewed only once before (and was so damn good) we had to make another just for you for SFBW. Come hang out with the mastermind behind the recipe (Lead Brewer Joe Smith) and try this fantastic beer! Once it's gone...it may never return.
How could I resist such a rare beer?
When we got to the brewery, I was worried that they had run out of Strong Man, as it was not on the menu. I was expecting the bartender to tell me that they had run out of it long ago, but to my surprise they had it.
And it was delicious!
