First Post / Great American Beer Festival

Welcome to my new beer site! For my first post, I thought it would be appropriate to talk about the most epic beer event of the year: The Great American Beer Festival. GABF 2014 was a massive event as usual, perhaps with less gimmicks than the year before. I had a couple beer celebrity sightings: Sam Calagione from Dogfish Head and Garrett Oliver from Brooklyn Brewery. Everyone always asks, "What was the best beer you had?" It's a tough question when there are so many to taste over a few days. Is it bad that the gimmicky, flavored ones stand out? One of our favorites over the last 2 years has been the Chai Milk Stout from Yak & Yeti Brewpub. This year, I had a limited release from Saint Arnold Brewing Company that really stood out. I could go on, but I honestly don't remember a lot of the names of so many of them.
Every year it is very impressive to see so many new breweries and I can't imagine what it would be like in 5 years. Can't wait until GABF 2015!
